Your first visit, from the door to the written plan.
About an hour with Dr. Kari Haraldsen. You talk, we scan, you see your options, and you leave with everything in writing. Nothing is done to your teeth that day.

1. We listen first
Sitting up, no instruments. What bothers you, what you've been told before, what you'd like to be able to do again, and what worries you about treatment.

2. A 3D scan, if it's needed
For implants we take a cone-beam CT scan. It shows the height and width of the bone, and where nerves and sinuses sit, so the plan isn't guesswork. Photos and a digital scan of your teeth may be added.

3. You see what we see
Your scan on a big screen, explained in plain words. You can bring someone with you, and ask the same question twice.

4. Options, side by side
Usually more than one: an implant, a bridge, a denture, aligners or veneers, or waiting. We tell you what each involves, how long it takes and what it asks of you afterwards.

Before your visit
Is there a fee for the consultation?
The practice sets this: either a free consultation with its conditions written here, or a fixed fee that covers the scan. (Slot for the owner's policy.)
Do I need a referral?
No. You can book directly. If another dentist has sent you, bring any X-rays or notes you have.
What should I bring?
Your insurance card if you have one, a list of medicines you take, and any questions written down. We go through your health history in person.
Will you start treatment on the day?
No. The first visit is for talking, scanning and planning. Treatment is booked only after you've read your plan and agreed to it.
